Special Food Issues:
Food Selling/Sampling: VegFest seeks to provide as many opportunities as possible for the public to sample vegan food. For reasons of space, and health department regulations, there are restrictions on distribution of food in the Exhibitors Area. Food products must factory made or made in a health department certified kitchen. Food products must be non-perishable as sold or sampled, requiring no heating or cooling during the event. However, the “Restaurant” area of VegFest, located in the basement level cafeteria, provides opportunities for large-scale free sampling (1,000 minimum) of either perishable hot/cold, or non-perishable, foods and beverages, with option for selling larger portions. A “restaurant” applicant for purposes of VegFest can be any food service or food distribution organization, e.g. a restaurant, a grocer, a food product manufacturer, a catering company, or a personal chef. Go to the Restaurant Information Page for more information about opportunities and requirements.
