Apr 24 @ 11:00 pm – 1:00 am

This multi-award winning documentary by Liz Marshall illuminates the lives of individual animals living within and rescued from the machine of our modern world. Through the heart and photographic lens of acclaimed photographer Jo-Anne McArthur, we become intimately familiar with a cast of non-human animals. The film follows Jo-Anne over the course of a year as she photographs several animal stories in Canada, the U.S., and Europe. Each story is a window into global animal industries: Food, Fashion, Entertainment and Research.
Location: Ann Arbor District Library (Downtown), 343 S. Fifth Ave.

Our Daily Bread @ Congretional Church of Birmingham
Apr 25 @ 12:00 am – 1:00 am

Our Daily Bread: This film offers a shocking look at how food is produced and how food production companies use technology to maximize efficiency and profit. Without using words, the film allows the viewer to form their own opinions through the use of sounds of machinery, conveyor belts at a chicken factory, and the motor of a plane spraying pesticides.  Jeff Hampton of VegMichigan will be the discussion leader.
