VegMichigan

Thank You for Your Support!

The 1st Annual VegMichigan Fundraiser Gala held on Thursday, November 8th at Zingerman’s Greyline in Ann Arbor was a huge success because of the generous support of our friends and members! Attendees enjoyed complimentary local craft beer and a great wine selection plus delicious vegan appetizers and music by the popular Event Jazz Trio. Winners of our raffle took home a $75 gift card to GreenSpace Cafe, a $50 gift card to Chive Kitchen, a month of fruits and vegetables delivered to your door by Hungry Harvest, a $50 gift card and cookies from Shimmy Shack, and two $100 gift cards to The Lunch Room/Detroit Street Filling Station!

The funds raised will enable us to promote the health, ethical, and environmental benefits of a vegan diet to a wider audience throughout the entire state of Michigan. Like you, we believe in a positive, nonjudgmental approach that presents veganism as enjoyable, healthy and in-line with an individual’s values. This approach is proving successful!

This year, for the first time in VegMichigan’s nearly 20-year history, we’ve hired two staff members to help expand our outreach even further. In 2018, so far, we’ve hosted nearly 6,000 attendees at VegFest, thousands at our free SummerFest, free cooking demos, free vegan food tastings, free presentations with nutritional experts, tablings, and we expanded our dinner club network to Flint, Saginaw, and Lansing. Additionally, we successfully worked with The Original Cottage Inn to launch a vegan menu at their main Ann Arbor location. We have also expanded our college outreach and already have participated in events at Michigan State University and Eastern Michigan University with many more events to come on college campuses throughout Michigan, including free vegan food tastings, movie nights, leafletings, and more!
