VegFest 2013: Vegan Tastefest and Expo in Novi: April 21, 2013

Popular vegan tastefest & expo features comedian Carol Leifer, NBA champ John Salley, Dr. Neal Barnard, chefs, authors, health experts, artists, food and more!

ROYAL OAK, Mich., February 25, 2013 –

VegFest, metro Detroit’s premier vegan tastefest, health and environmental expo, returns to the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi for its annual event on April 21.

Nationally known presenters will be featured at VegFest again this year including comedian Carol Leifer. In addition to Carol Leifer, featured speakers include NBA champ John Salley; President of Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and PBS program host Neal Barnard M.D.; world-renowned ultramarathon champion Scott Jurek; author and sustainability activist Ruby Roth, on the health, environmental and ethical benefits of a plant-based diet.

In response to a record – breaking crowd of over 4000 last year, VegFest 2013 brings an even greater variety of experts, innovative products and activities.

In addition to numerous prominent speakers and cooking demonstrators, there will be a huge food court featuring delicious options from local restaurants, bakeries, caterers and food companies.

In the exhibit hall there will also be national brand samples, eco-friendly products, cruelty-free fashion, children’s activities, door prizes, literature, cookbooks and more. All vegan, of course! “We are thrilled to be putting together another event,” says
Paul Krause, president, VegMichigan. “VegFest is a diverse event that features exhibitors, restaurants and food companies, cooking demonstrations and celebrity speakers to promote the awareness of the health, environmental and ethical consequences of our food choices. The event will clearly illustrate the advantages of a vegan life style in a fun and festive manner.”

Major event sponsors include BetterHealth Stores, The Medicine Cabinet Pharmacy of Southfield, Whole Foods Market, Ann Arbor Family and Ann Arbor Current Magazines and 93.9 The River.
