We will foster empathy and compassion for animals and invite students to think critically about the human-animal relationship\, and to specifically question the use of animals as food.\n\nStudents in the class will be given the opportunity to participate in our 30-day plant-based pledge program.

DESCRIPTION:VIRTUAL LOBBYING EVENT – TAKE ACTION TO PREVENT THE EXPANSION OF FACTORY FARMS IN MI \n  \nJoin us for a Virtual Open House Lobbying Party to take action on pending bills in Michigan to prevent the expansion of factory farms in Michigan. \nWhen: Wednesday\, February 7th\, come anytime between 6:30 to 8:30 pm\, and stay for as long as you are able. \nWhat: Learn more about the bills\, gain tips for effective lobbying\, and take action through phone calling\, emailing\, and letter writing to let MI Representatives and Senators know that this bill will incentivize factory farming in Michigan causing harm to animals\, the environment\, and rural communities. \nWe will also be raffling off prizes throughout the evening! \nThis event is being hosted by Michiganders for a Just Farming System\, Barn Sanctuary\, Attorneys for Animals\, and VegMichigan. \nRegistration: To register for the event sign-up here.
