SUMMARY:BOOK CLUB DISCUSSION (VIRTUAL): PROTEST KITCHEN
DESCRIPTION:BOOK CLUB DISCUSSION (VIRTUAL): PROTEST KITCHEN \nIt seems like our discussions inevitably veer towards food\, cooking\, and/or eating out\, so for our February Book Club\, we are going to embrace that inclination! We will talk about Protest Kitchen\, which is both a cookbook and a manual for fighting injustices with our food choices. “A provocative and practical resource for hope and healing\, Protest Kitchen\, addresses all of the impacts of food choices and provides practical guidance for making changes through daily actions and recipes.” \nWe encourage you to read the whole book–it’s full of great information and ideas\, as well as recipes! However\, if you are short on time\, please read the introduction and at least one other chapter—choose one that resonates with you. Please take notes so you can summarize that chapter for others who did not read it. For bonus points\, we encourage you to make one of the recipes in the book and tell the group how that went. We will also share favorite cookbooks and/or recipes after we discuss Protest Kitchen. \n\nRegister in advance for this meeting:\nhttps://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEqfu2pqzMuG9fq6kD-hwvxGXajziPllJeb\n\nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.\n\n\nGet a copy of the book from the library\, your favorite indie bookseller\, Thriftbooks.com\, or wherever you get your books. \nThis event is co-sponsored by Attorneys for Animals and VegMichigan. \nWe hope to see you there!
