SUMMARY:ANN ARBOR - TIOS MEXICAN CAFE MEETUP
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a delicious dinner at Tios Mexican Cafe. They “have been focused on community\, family\, and sustainable food since 1986. [They] work closely with their vendors and local farmers to bring the best ingredients from [their] family to yours. [They] believe in doing their part to protect the environment\, strengthen their community\, and support their staff.” \nIn March they are offering the vegan special\, Cauliflower Pibil- braised and seared cauliflower in a traditional Oaxacan sour orange sauce served with raspberry avocado\, tomato relish and black beans for the whole month. \nThey will have a second vegan special\, Portobello mushroom tacos- portobello mushrooms roasted in garlic and olive oil topped with house made giardiniera on soft corn tortilla\, for our Meetup ONLY! \nAlso\, the refried beans and Spanish Rice at Tios are always vegan\, and many of their dishes can easily be made plant-based upon request. \nVegMichigan welcomes everyone to our programs\, but we do ask that you enjoy a vegan meal at the Meetup. \nWe need to give an accurate attendee count to the restaurant in advance\, so please be mindful when signing up\, and if you are no longer able to attend\, please change your RSVP status. \nRSVP here to attend. \nAbout VegMichigan\nVegMichigan is a nonprofit organization that promotes plant-based eating for health\, animals\, and the planet. These monthly Meetups have been a fun way to build community\, support those who are new to plant-based eating\, and promote restaurants who have delicious plant-based options. \nVegMichigan offers resources for folks who are interested in eating more plant-based\, including nutrition and cooking videos and a 30-day pledge program complete with free samples of popular plant-based foods. To learn more\, please visit our website at vegmichigan.org. \nCollaboration with A2ZERO\nThis A2ZERO program is hosted by VegMichigan in collaboration with the City of Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations. A2ZERO is the City of Ann Arbor’s plan to achieve a just and equitable transition to community-wide carbon neutrality by 2030. By participating\, you are joining a community of climate-friendly food champions! Learn about the connections between food choices and climate\, and more ways you can get involved\, by visiting our website. \nClick here to learn more about A2ZERO\, and many other opportunities to get involved with sustainability in Ann Arbor! \nThe City of Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations wants to know who they are reaching and the impact on the community so they are inviting you to complete this optional demographic survey. Thank you for your consideration. \nQuestions or comments about this Meetup? Feel free to contact Kim Korona at Kim@VegMichigan.org.
