FORAGING FELLOWSHIP: EATING AND NURTURING THE LOCAL LANDSCAPE (WITH @CHAOTICFORAGER)

April 18, 2023 - 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

FORAGING FELLOWSHIP: EATING AND NURTURING THE LOCAL LANDSCAPE

In this presentation, Gabrielle Cerberville (aka @chaoticforager or “The Internet’s Mushroom Auntie”) discusses the many ways that foraging can improve and enrich communities. By partnering with the land and one another, we can infuse our shared green spaces with added value, provide ourselves and local wildlife with an abundance of nutritious, free food, and experience a deeper connection to nature.

Gabrielle Cerberville (aka @chaoticforager or “The Internet’s Mushroom Auntie”) is an enthusiastic, science-based foraging education content creator focused on mycology and holistic ecosystem awareness with a special focus on sustainable harvest. In 2021, she was selected as one of TikTok’s 150 Latinx Creatives, and in 2022 she was one of ten recipients of the TikTok Latinx Creatives Grant, in partnership with MACRO and UnbeliEVAble, which is funding a foraging docuseries she will be making over the next year. Gabrielle keeps busy with speaking engagements, creating entertaining educational content, writing her book (which she promises she will finish), and whipping up new experiments in the kitchen, and she will be adding even more to her plate by starting her PhD in Music Composition and Computer Technologies in the fall at the University of Virginia.
