VegMichigan is dropping off bags of free plant-based food to Ann Arbor YMCA staff who signed up for the 30-day plant-based pledge program.

In the spirit of Oktoberfest, the upcoming monthly VegMichigan Traverse City Meetup will be held Friday, October 6th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Oryana West. Come and join us to sample vegan brats, sausages, and local cider.
TRINITY HEALTH FALL FESTIVAL
this event is open to the public. VegMichigan will be tabling at the event, giving people information about the benefits of plant-based eating, and visitors to our table can play our "non-dairy milk ring toss."
DINNER MEETUP AT VKITCHEN IN ANN ARBOR
Join VegMichigan on Thursday, October 12th, from 6pm-7:30pm at VKitchen in Ann Arbor for a delicious, plant-based Vietnamese dinner. VKitchen has several plant-based entrees to choose from, and an indoor dining room perfect for cooler weather.
U OF M PLANT-BASED TAILGATE
VegMichigan will be serving free plant-based food samples to UM football fans from local restaurants so that people can see how delicious plant-based food is and become more aware of the plant-based options in the area.
TAKE ACTION ON S.B. 275 TO STOP FACTORY FARMING
As a member of Michiganders for a Just Farming System, VegMichigan is hosting a virtual letter-writing and phone bank open house. Come for as long as you are able and make your voice heard on this greenwashing bill. Help stop animal manure from being used as an energy source to prevent the expansion of factory farms.
SHARE DETROIT MEETING
VegMichigan is partnering with Zella's Bakery to serve an all-plant-based lunch to nonprofits in the Detroit area.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM FOR ANIMAL PHILOSOPHY COURSE AT MADONNA UNIVERSITY
VegMichigan is teaching an educational program to an animal philosophy class at Madonna University. We will foster empathy and compassion for animals and invite students to think critically about the human-animal relationship and to specifically question the use of animals as food.
EMBRACING A PLANT-BASED DIET
Marc Ramirez, a former University of Michigan football player and co-founder of the nonprofit Chickpea and Bean, will discuss how he lost 50 pounds and reversed Type 2 diabetes and other illnesses with the power of plants. His wife Kim, co-founder of Chickpea and Bean, will share tips and tricks about what to shop for and how to prepare food while transitioning to a plant-based lifestyle.
PLANT-BASED HOLIDAY COOKING (IN-PERSON IN TRAVERSE CITY)
Organized by Oryana and in partnership with VegMichigan, you will prepare a sumptuous vegan feast for family and friends featuring easy dishes you can whip up for your holiday meal. You will make a classic Creamy Green Bean Casserole, Sweet Potato Casserole with Apples & Crunchy Rosemary Walnuts, Shaved Brussels Sprouts Salad with Creamy Garlic Dressing, and Balsamic Mushroom & Olive Pate. We will also be sampling a few popular vegan holiday roasts.
VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION
VegMichigan will be holding a virtual volunteer orientation for new volunteers.

VegMichigan is providing a short presentation about our free 30-day plant-based pledge program, discussing all the benefits of plant-based eating, the connection to our partnership with the city of Ann Arbor and its A2Zero initiative.
