Individuals who signed up for our 30-Day Plant-Based pledge program, will attend a short introduction presentation about the program and learn about the benefits of plant-based eating. Then, we will give them free bags of plant-based items to support them in adding more plant-based meals to their daily routines.
EMBRACING A PLANT-BASED LIFESTYLE
Marc Ramirez, a former University of Michigan football player and co-founder of the nonprofit Chickpea and Bean, will discuss how he lost 50 pounds and reversed Type 2 diabetes and other illnesses with the power of plants. His wife Kim, co-founder of Chickpea and Bean, will share tips and tricks about what to shop for and how to prepare food while transitioning to a plant-based lifestyle.
FAITH AND FOOD PANEL WITH 3 GENESIS COALITION CONGREGATIONS
We will give a short talk about the pledge, our collaboration with the city of Ann Arbor, and how adding more plant-based foods to our diets is climate-friendly.

The Faith-Based Coalition is organizing a plant-based event with lots of activities including a plant-based potluck, a testimonial about how vegan living has benefitted one of their congregation members, a presentation on the benefits of plant-based eating by VegMichigan, "Why Plant-Based Eating?," and a cooking demonstration by Rhoda St. Luce (AKA The Platinum Chef) organized by VegMichigan.
