Former UofM football player, Marc Ramirez, will discuss how he reversed Type 2 diabetes and other illnesses with the power of plants. His wife Kim will share tips and tricks about what to shop for and how to prepare food while transitioning to a plant-based lifestyle.

Dr. Kahn will explain the immune system and discuss our diet’s role in keeping it strong. Dr. Kahn serves as a Clinical Professor of Medicine, Wayne State University School of Medicine. He has authored 5 books, the latest of which is the Plant-Based Solution.

COOK PLANT-BASED WITH VEGMICHIGAN

Join VegMichigan and Wayne Public Library for a plant-based cooking demo by Kim Ramirez of Chickpea and Bean, a Food For Life instructor certified through Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. Kim will be cooking Vegan Sloppy Joes, Coleslaw with Sweet and Tangy Dressing, and Cookie Dough Balls for dessert! Kim will not only demonstrate the cooking methods for these three dishes, but she will also talk about all the great nutritional benefits that come with including more plant-based foods like these into your diet.
